Aaron is a middle school teacher and his daughter, AJ, had always struggled with reading and reading comprehension.
Given Aaron’s knowledge of the options in the school district, they had tried many strategies over the years to help AJ, but she continued to struggle.
Entering 7th grade, her reading difficulties became a bigger issue as reading skills bleed into every subject. AJ did well on school assignments that did not require reading, but as soon as she saw a page of words, she would get overwhelmed. She also struggled to retain what she was reading.
