Boosting fundamental skills to get better at math

If your high school student is regularly struggling with math, you may want to consider a program that provides a strong foundation of core math skills. LearningRx’s MathRx program is customized for your student to build and strengthen math skills through one-on-one games and mental exercises with their own personal brain trainer, in person or online.

While tutoring focuses on re-teaching academic material, MathRx builds the learning skills math requires, like short-term memory, logic & and reasoning, and how quickly the brain processes new information (processing speed). The program also helps students improve math skills in four basic areas:

  • Helping students become fluent in the language of math, making sense of written equations and math concepts in spoken language
  • Teaching students how to see the world in terms of numbers and quantities
  • Helping students break down math problems into easy-to understand pieces and creating strategies to solve the problem
  • Training students to think in mathematical terms more quickly and accurately, allowing them to work faster and with greater confidence

As students progress, their brain trainer can adjust their plan based on performance.
