What does a brain training center look like? When you think of brain training, what do you imagine? Do you think of computer games or a fitness studio with different equipment around a room? So, what does a brain training center look like? A LearningRx brain training center is set up similarly to other learning interventions. It’s usually a space with tables and chairs seated across from each other. It also is an open space with stations like the one we described above with little to no dividers. Often centers will also have a Brain Lab which adds more time for training and continues to work on the automaticity of cognitive skills. Brain Lab is like a computer lab, with computers and chairs in a separate room. LearningRx Charlottesville, VA A trainer will sit directly across from a student during a brain training session. The one-on-one aspect of training helps students grow their cognitive skills quickly, and the trainer can adapt training to a students’ needs. Computer brain training programs tend to dish out the same exercises without customization. A trainer can see where a student is hitting a roadblock and adjust the exercise. We call this loading. LearningRx Richmond Hill, Canada Loading is the act of slowly building on a skill through a brain training exercise. The trainer can unload parts of a hard activity and then slowly load the more challenging aspects of a back onto an exercise. Then once a student meets a certain level, the trainer can add more difficulty to the task custom to a student’s needs. We use various materials for our programs, which aid in thinking and learning skills like brain cards, tangrams, shapes, metronomes, and more. Many learning intervention centers will have resources to help students with educational material. Our centers have toolboxes for the brain. LearningRx Chattanooga, TN If you ever visit a center, you may also realize it is often a noisy environment, opposite to other learning interventions. We welcome the noise because we want students to learn to block out distractions. In life, distractions are all around us, so it’s unrealistic to build cognitive skills in quiet spaces. Students need to develop the skills to block out the kid in English class coughing during a test or the sounds of siblings in the other room while studying for a test. We want each student who leaves training to have the skills to block out distractions. LearningRx centers are in shopping centers, office buildings, shared buildings, etc. Most centers also offer remote training to cater to people far away from a center. Centers have even trained students who moved to different countries during training. Locations are equipped with the tools for remote training and provide an unincumbered experience online. LearningRx Chandler, AZ LearningRx is proud to offer a unique learning solution to people across the United States, Canada, and Worldwide. We hope this glimpse into what a brain training center looks like helps you get a better idea of our programs. Our centers see people of all ages, from students to retirees.
