How We Help with Reading
One-on-One Training to Build Reading Skills
When we read, we’re identifying and deciphering letter combinations, processing complex ideas and sentences, and retaining important details. These cognitive abilities are skills which can be tested, trained, and strengthened.
Through one-on-one drills, games, and exercises, learners can work on honing distinct reading skills. Our brain trainers keep learners motivated and on-track, while helping them embrace new challenges. For learners of all ages who need reading help, we offer two core programs in Minnetonka:
- ReadRx® targets fundamental reading skills. It’s great for those who are starting to read or striving for a peer reading level.
- ComprehendRx® can boost existing skills even further. It’s well-suited for those who want to become strong readers or who need a challenge.
Every program is unique to every reader. After an initial Brain Skills Assessment, we can personalize our approach, create a customized training plan, and help each learner succeed on their terms.
Brain Training or Reading Tutoring?
What’s the difference between tutoring and brain training? For those who need reading help, brain training can activate and hone core cognitive skills. These building-block skills are necessary for reading, processing, and learning.
Tutoring teaches through repetition, relying on the skills that learners already possess. When students are having a tough time at school, tutoring may not be the right fit.
Brain training can offer a different approach. We know that with concrete skill-building, anyone can get excited about learning and reading.
