Our programs are fun and challenging. Brain trainers lead each learner through targeted brain games, helping them strengthen specific cognitive areas. 

With intense, focused sessions, students can fast-track their brain skills. In doing so, they can boost existing abilities and transform their cognitive potential! 

How Brain Training Works

To help you or your child strengthen cognitive skills, we’ll design a one-of-a-kind training plan, and we’ll target cognitive skills in one-on-one training sessions. Here’s a closer look at how our training methods work, plus how they differ from other solutions — like tutoring.

Assessment & Personalized Plan

At LearningRx Harrisonburg, we customize each program with a specific learner in mind. That process starts with a Brain Skills Assessment, which helps us get to know each student and their needs.

Program duration varies based on the learner and their needs, but can last up to six months. During that time, students can work towards tangible goals, improving their learning and thinking skills in the process. 

One-on-One Training Sessions

Just like personal trainers can transform our physical abilities, brain trainers can strengthen cognitive skills, too. 

With dynamic games and drills, we work one-on-one with each learner to advance skill development. As clients progress through sessions, they can enhance specific brain skills like visual processing and attention. 

Our trainers keep each student on-track and motivated, helping them make positive gains throughout the program. With a one-on-one approach, we help clients get excited about learning again! 

Brain Training or Tutoring?

What’s the difference between tutoring and brain training? At LearningRx Harrisonburg, we work on skill-building, targeting the seven core cognitive skills that help us think and learn. It’s crucially different from tutoring, which is designed to relay ideas and concepts. 

Instead of teaching course material, we make it easier for learners to process new ideas and retain information. We know that everyone can get excited about learning when they have the skills and support to do so.
