Brain Injury & Concussion Help in San Antonio Northeast

Recovering from a concussion or traumatic brain injury (TBI) can be a difficult journey. This journey can be especially hard when core cognitive skills – like memory and concentration – fail to recover as quickly as hoped. Our concussion help and TBI training plans allow clients to target skills like memory and concentration through a process called brain training.

While brain training is not a cure for brain injuries, clients with brain injuries can work on cognitive skills like memory and focus through our brain injury program. In research studies, LearningRx graduates with brain injuries have seen improvements in targeted skills after brain training.

Past clients who have received TBI help or concussion help have reported:

  • Increased confidence
  • Improved perseverance
  • Longer attention spans
  • Stronger memory skills
  • Better function at school/work

Our research also shows the benefits that brain training has had on individuals recovering from brain injuries. Between 2010 and 2018, more than 350 clients received brain injury help through LearningRx. The average client saw significant improvements in all of the cognitive skills targeted by brain training.

(Results based on studies and surveys of past clients. You or your child may or may not achieve the same results.)

Brain Training for Clients with Concussions & Brain Injuries

Custom Training for Clients with Brain Injuries

At LearningRx, we develop a custom training plan for every client, including clients who have suffered concussions or other types of brain injuries. To develop this plan, we discuss the client’s history and training goals. We also conduct a Brain Skills Assessment to measure cognitive abilities. We can then target the specific skills that each client needs the most help improving.

Clients who are recovering from brain injuries often report cognitive problems, such as poor memory, thinking more slowly than usual, or having trouble focusing on a particular task. If you or a loved one have struggled with specific cognitive skills following a brain injury, we can design a concussion help or brain injury help plan to focus on these abilities.

Brain Training for Concussions & Brain Injuries

Our concussion and TBI help training programs use best practices that we’ve developed over 35+ years of experience and research.

You can think of brain training as similar to personal training, except that we strengthen the mind instead of muscles. Clients work with a brain trainer in one-on-one training sessions, which include a mix of mental drills, exercises, and games. Each activity targets a specific cognitive skill, or multiple skills in combination.

These sessions are challenging by design, like a workout at the gym. By pushing each client to use the full extent of their existing cognitive skills, we can train the abilities targeted by their learning plan.
