Happy Anniversary!
We are celebrating 13 years of changing lives at our Savage location! In that time, we’ve had 930 clients graduate and over 2,000 graduates if we include our Eagan and Woodbury centers.
We wanted to share some of our favorite stories from these past years!
Elle
Elle was one of our first students – she was in 3rd grade and could not read. Her parents had tried school interventions and tutoring but nothing was helping. The school Elle attended told her mom, Renee, “Your expectations are too high – some students always struggle to read”. Not satisfied by this answer, Renee enrolled Elle at LearningRx. Elle’s reading level jumped 4 grade levels as a result of her training and her confidence soared! Now 12 years later, Elle has completed her post-secondary education and is thriving in her career. Kilian
Kilian was diagnosed with ADHD at age 6 and had always struggled. His parents had tried ADHD medication, tutoring and school programs, but he continued to struggle. As Kilian moved into junior high and high school, he started to have difficulty with organizational skills, test taking, lack of focus, executive function and motivation. The semester after Kilian completed our program he was named an academic all-star. Now 9 years later he has not just completed high school, but graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Architecture. His ADHD and attention issues are a thing of the past! Ben Utecht
Ben won a Super Bowl with the Colts in 2007 but was forced to retire 2 years later due to his multiple concussions. His past concussions were causing memory lapses, slowness in processing speed and attention issues. We met Ben 6 years later and he completed a 20-week program to strengthen his memory, processing and attention. His results were outstanding as his skills skyrocketed to over the 90th percentile and he felt a new mental clarity he hadn’t felt since his concussions. Ben’s story: https://youtu.be/5Uh1h6lTYpM
Charlotte
Charlotte was 91 years old and was experiencing age related memory loss. She went through a LearningRx training program to strengthen her skills and her memory skills jumped from around the 20th to the 60th percentile. Catie
But I would have to say my favorite student is my own daughter Catie (I guess I’m biased!!). Catie was the reason we opened the center 13 years ago as she was diagnosed with ADHD at age 6. Our cognitive skills training strengthened her skills and helped her get off of her ADHD medication. Catie is now 20 years old and getting A’s in college.
There are so many stories we could share. We love seeing the “light come on” and how training can be life-changing for so many students and their families. We’re excited to see what the next 13 years holds!
