We are celebrating a big milestone this year at LearningRx Staunton-Harrisonburg. We’ve been open and serving the Shenandoah Valley for 10 years! While the years have been filled with ups and downs, the reason we do what we do is because of the amazing impact we’re able to have on our clients’ lives. We firmly believe that a stronger brain sets you up to achieve your greatest potential, and we just have so much fun helping people do that!

Improvements Beyond the LearningRx Staunton Center

Facing Hard Things Head-On
“As a homeschool mom, who is the main teacher for my kids, I am able to see the academic weaknesses of each child clearly. LearningRx was able to not only affirm those weak areas, but address them head on; as well as address additional areas. Some of those improvements were academics, persistence, not shying away from hard work, and working hard to complete a goal. We have seen many positive academic changes in our son and daughter as a result of coming to LearningRx. However, the best change we have seen has been their positive attitude towards hard work. Before LearningRx, my kids would give up or avoid what seems to be an impossible task; after LearningRx, they strive to fully complete the hard task head on. Greater Confidence as an Adult
“I am able to concentrate more on the road when driving. I drive at a more constant speed, don’t miss exits, am able to carry a conversation without losing focus. I am able to get more done around the house without getting as overwhelmed: cleaning, organizing and cooking. I have seen improvement in understanding and following instructions and I am able to better prepare ahead for projects or events coming up.”

From Feeling Defeated to Wanting to Read
“Our daughter began the program with significant auditory processing and memory issues. School was a struggle and she was reading below grade level. She was highly frustrated with herself and felt very defeated because she claimed she couldn’t read like they could and just felt slower than them. This program has drastically improved H.’s reading abilities and has helped her build confidence. We see that she isn’t struggling so much with memorizing spelling words and figuring out how to do work on her own. And it’s amazing to watch her want to read!”
School and Life are Easier
“The program works. I have an entirely new child. The staff and trainer were wonderful and answered all my questions. They were always willing to work with us. As a result of the training my daughter has made improvements in more areas than I can name here. I have a daughter who is more confident, more willing to take risks, make friends, and who is happier overall. I have seen how much easier her schoolwork and life in general is. She has gone from shying away from challenges to embracing them and working hard.”
More Willing to Try New Things
“My son who was not even wanting to try things, is now more willing and open. His grades were consistently declining in elementary school even with parent teacher conferences and both parents attempting to help him get his grades up. This year he started the year off in middle school very enthusiastically and has demonstrated straight A’s and pride in his school work like we have never seen before! We are so grateful for the people at LearningRx, especially Sandy, and how they gave us hope and support when we really needed it!”
I Didn’t Think She Really Needed It
“Paige was an A/B student, but seemed to struggle some with obtaining these grades. She also had, notice I say had, some slight OCD issues, which caused her to struggle as well. She is a good child and doesn’t give me a lot of problems, but with her hitting middle school she seemed to have no patience. This program has helped with all of the above.
If truth be told, I really didn’t think that this program would help Paige because she is a really good kid and I chalked it up to her becoming a teenager. After the first evaluation, I learned that she was struggling in some areas that I wasn’t aware of and decided that as much money as we spend on softball and other things, the price really wasn’t all that bad if it would help her succeed and get through life better. It was the least we could do for her as her parents.
I am glad we did because she has more confidence, her attitude is better and her OCD has gone away. She even says that she feels different and feels better about herself. So, not only does her father and I see improvement, but she does as well and she feels great about it and seems to be a happier child. As you can see from her evaluations, her scores really did increase significantly. I feel that this program will help her in life’s ups and downs and am happy to recommend it to any parent who wants to better their child.”
Less Fear of Math
“Math used to be a stressful nightmare for my daughter. After a year or so of brain training S. has an A- in math and has the confidence to tackle new material with less anxiety and dread.”
