What Sets LearningRx Apart?
As you research options, it is important to understand what sets LearningRx apart from other interventions. What is the LearningRx difference?
- One difference is that LearningRx is not a tutoring center focused on providing more academic content or providing homework help. LearningRx is a cognitive skills training center that provides 1-on-1 training focused on addressing the root cause of learning struggles like reading, math, attention or motivation.
- LearningRx has been at this a long time. In fact, our founder, Dr. Ken Gibson, started developing brain training exercises in 1968 and LearningRx boasts the largest network of brain training centers across the United States and globe!
- Don’t just take our word that our training works, listen to the dozens of research studies completed on our methods — many of which have been peer-reviewed and published in psychology and medical journals. Our methods have been developed, studied and validated by psychologists, neuroscientists, research scientists, reading specialists, educators, eye doctors and physicians.
We encourage you to diligently explore the options available to help your child or yourself but ask to see the peer-reviewed research conducted specifically on the intervention you are considering before making a decision. Many programs will base their methods on theory or say their methods are research based, but we encourage you to ask for their research on the intervention they actually provide.
To date, we have over 40 studies completed on our specific training methodologies and 17 of these have been peer-reviewed and published.
For example, we have research published in Psychology Research and Behavior Management showing significant improvements in reading skills including phonetic coding, reading comprehension, word attack and phonological awareness.
We have two peer-reviewed studies related to our work with individuals diagnosed with ADHD showing significant cognitive skill improvements as well as transfer effects to improved confidence, cooperative behaviors and self-discipline.
Multiple studies relate to our work helping clients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and our work with seniors suffering from mild cognitive impairment.
We have the experience, expertise and research at LearningRx to help you or your loved one overcome the learning struggles they have been experiencing and we’d love to discuss the science behind our training and answer any questions you have.
